A Learning Journal is a collection of notes, personal observations, thoughts and ideas built-up over time to help us reflect on our learning, work and study. Its aim is to reflect on our learning by writing and thinking about our experiences. Your learning journal is personal to you and will reflect your personality, style and ideas.
Why use a learning journal?
Remember your journal helps you to reflect on your learning, this means it’s not a purely descriptive list of what you did but a chance to communicate and record your thinking process: how and why you did what you did, and what you now think about it when you look back – what can you do to improve?
What should you write about?
Finally, at the end of the year, explore what new knowledge, skills or understanding you have gained during the process of writing your journal.
